Tents for Hope Shelter Drive
Support Safe Shelter for Vermonters Experiencing Homelessness
The changes to the General Assistance Emergency Housing Program, also known as the motel voucher program, will leave many Vermonters without shelter this fall—just as the weather begins to turn colder.
At HCRS, we believe housing is health care. Being unhoused can present dangerous conditions, especially for people with medical conditions that put them at higher risk—such as those with mental health or substance use disorders, people with disabilities, the elderly, children and infants, and those with chronic or acute health issues, including neurological disorders like traumatic brain injury.
In Brattleboro, Project Connectionworks, (a collaboration between Better Life Partners, Groundworks Collaborative, InterAction, and HCRS), is seeking donations, 100% of which will go toward the purchase of tents to provide temporary shelter for the 300 people facing imminent eviction.
HCRS is proud to help facilitate this donation drive and will match all contributions up to $2,500 through our newly established Housing Contingency Fund. This fund, distinct from the CRT Housing Fund, was created through the generous support of our donors to assist people outside of our CRT program who are homeless or at risk of homelessness.
Please contribute to this vital cause using the “Help Fund a Tent” button below. Donate today and you can double your impact. Thank you for your kindness and support!

Being able to have appointments through Zoom has been a huge help. It makes it easier to keep appointments, cuts down on stress as I don’t have to worry about transportation or if I can afford gas for my car. It also helps with anxiety when the weather is bad as I don’t have to drive. It is also really easy to get in contact with your team. Everyone is very reachable by either phone or email…I feel like I can reach out to either our case manager or counselor at any time, which helps with making me feel very supported.
