HCRS Residential Services Division consists of a residential continuum of care committed to the cultivation of connection for sustainable recovery experiences. The development of seamless connections with our community provides the opportunity for each individual to align both internal and external resources for personal healing and recovery. Through a variety of therapeutic approaches and comprehensive service provision and coordination, the Residential Services Team seeks to establish sustainable recovery connections for everyone we work with.

The Residential continuum of care is comprised of a total of 38 beds spanning five individual programs. Residential Services offers residential care spanning from short term crisis stabilization, to intensive residential care, to therapeutic community residential services. Each program is specifically designed to offer individuals the appropriate level of care to support their personal recovery and wellness needs.

Therapeutic Community Residences

Our Therapeutic Community Residential Programs comprise 18 beds across two programs within our residential services continuum. These facilities are located in Woodstock and Ludlow, Vermont. Each program places a primary focus on community integration and independent living skill development as fundamental components of each individual’s journey toward sustainable recovery. Each program offers 24-hour staffing assistance to provide support, coaching, and service coordination for all individuals during their admission.

Woodstock Therapeutic Care Residence, Woodstock, Vermont

Woodstock Therapeutic Care Residence is an 8-bed facility open to men and women over the age of 18 who experience severe and persistent mental illness and are currently enrolled in the HCRS CRT Program. The primary focus of this program is to transition each resident into their own apartment upon graduation. Through collaborative and integrated residential supports, each individual develops personalized treatment goals, reviewed daily, which focus on independent living and community integration skill development

Beekman House, Ludlow, Vermont

Beekman House is a 10-bed, therapeutic community residence, located in Ludlow, Vermont for adult males, over the age of 18, who are eligible for HCRS CRT Services. Beekman House employs the therapeutic environment to help facilitate the individual’s progress toward the development of independent living skills, which encompass self care, meal preparation, shopping, budgeting, and relational/social skills development to include social, communication, conflict resolution, assertiveness, leadership, and personal recovery.

Alternatives

Alternatives is a 6-bed, sub-acute, Level III, crisis stabilization facility designed to assist individuals in need of a safe, therapeutic environment to resolve sub-acute psychiatric crisis. Alternatives accepts referrals 24 hours a day, from a variety of referral sources, to include emergency rooms, crisis teams, and outpatient services providers. Alternatives has the capacity to provide intensive staff support and nursing oversight to ensure that individuals who are determined to need intensive crisis stabilization receive comprehensive residential, community-based supports. Alternatives works very closely within the HCRS and statewide continuum of care to assist individuals in their access to a home-like, short term recovery environment as a measure of hospital diversion or step down.

Hilltop Recovery Residence

Hilltop Recovery Residence is an 8-bed, staff supported Level III recovery residence designed to assist young adults who are experiencing challenges in functioning due to emotional or social distress. Hilltop offers a highly therapeutic, non-institutionalized environment in a peaceful, home-like setting to assist individuals in their process of reintegrating into their community. Hilltop offers a comprehensive program which includes: individualized supports through individual and group psychotherapy, family counseling, community activities, expressive therapies, and vocational supports. The program’s strengths-based, personalized approach to care is fundamental to ensuring each person gains the knowledge to understand their experiences and reconnects to their community.

Meadowview Recovery Residence

Meadowview Recovery Residence is a 6-bed, staff secure, Level III care home and recovery residence which provides 24-hour staffing sufficient for intensive support and a staff-secure environment. As such, Meadowview provides 24-hour nursing supports, case management, individual and group psychotherapy, peer recovery services, and residential services. Meadowview is conveniently located near downtown Brattleboro with easy access to medical care and community integration activities. The program provides comprehensive, person-centered, strength-based, and trauma informed programming in a home-like setting which employs use of community supports and integration as a way to practice independence and community re-integration after long term hospitalization or institutionalization.
