We’re thrilled to share that Dr. Paul Boutin, a longtime leader and advocate for mental health care in our community, has been promoted to Chief Medical Officer (CMO). This change in role highlights HCRS’ continued focus on improving access to high-quality medical and mental health services for people and families throughout southeastern Vermont.
Dr. Boutin has been a cornerstone of our team since 2013, working closely with children and teens at our Brattleboro and Springfield offices. As Medical Director, he led our Medical Division, overseeing psychiatrists, nurses, and medical assistants, while also advising on policies to ensure we always meet the highest standards of care.
But his story goes beyond the office. After nearly a decade in medical research, Dr. Boutin found his true calling in medicine, with a special focus on child and adolescent psychiatry. Inspired by his studies at the University of Washington and a passion for serving rural communities, he returned to his New England roots. Starting his clinical career at the Brattleboro Retreat, he quickly found his home at HCRS and has been making an impact ever since.
Dr. Boutin’s accomplishments don’t stop there. He’s a Fellow of the American Psychiatric Association, a member of the American Academy of Child & Adolescent Psychiatry, and a recognized leader in his field.
Congratulations, Dr. Boutin! We’re so excited to have your guidance and expertise leading the way.
