This innovative program provides community-based intensive support for youth ages 12-18, as an alternative to hospitalization. Based in Brattleboro, our Youth Stabilization Program (YSP) works with youth and their family to create a plan for the type of services and frequency of appointments that meets your needs and goals. Participation in the program can be as short as a week or as long as 3 months. Prior to stepping down from the program, staff will work with you to create a plan for next steps and help coordinate access to ongoing services.
Services may include: assessment, group, individual, and family therapy, skill-building in community settings, school support, peer support, and case management.
For more information, contact YSP@hcrs.org.
Funding for this program was provided through a congressionally directed spending request recommended by Senator Patrick Leahy, paired with additional funding from the Vermont Department of Mental Health.

Being able to have appointments through Zoom has been a huge help. It makes it easier to keep appointments, cuts down on stress as I don’t have to worry about transportation or if I can afford gas for my car. It also helps with anxiety when the weather is bad as I don’t have to drive. It is also really easy to get in contact with your team. Everyone is very reachable by either phone or email…I feel like I can reach out to either our case manager or counselor at any time, which helps with making me feel very supported.
