Brad Sewall, Clinician II, plays a vital role in supporting our clients in the Hartford region—not just through therapy and clinical supervision, but also by ensuring that the office coffee is brewed each morning (a crucial task, as any coffee lover will tell you!).
Brad’s work is deeply rooted in supporting our CRT clients, a role he finds both challenging and incredibly rewarding. “This has been the most activating area of my experience at HCRS,” he shares. “It’s pushed me to grow both professionally and personally.” He values the strong team dynamic he shares with his fellow clinicians and case managers, and he’s especially grateful for the support of Lisa Lambert and Shelley Lander in supervision. He’s also excited about the positive impact that Dr. Chowdhury, our new psychiatrist, has had on their team.
A Passion for the Outdoors
When he’s not working with clients, Brad is out in nature, building something amazing. This past summer, he spent time creating hiking trails on his son’s 35-acre property, land that was logged over 40 years ago. The plan? Primitive campsites and even a cabin at the highest point. Sounds like the perfect retreat!
Sci-Fi, Sports, and Soundtracks for Life
A science fiction aficionado, Brad recommends authors like Philip K. Dick, Arthur C. Clarke, Isaac Asimov, Clifford Simak, and Robert Heinlein—legends in the world of speculative fiction. When he’s not getting lost in a book, you might find him cheering for his favorite Boston sports teams or curating his extensive music collection. His taste spans everything from Punk Rock and Shoegaze to Hip-Hop and Jazz, proving that his love for storytelling extends beyond the page.
Moving Forward—Literally!
Four years ago, Brad underwent bilateral total knee replacement surgery, and he’s thrilled to be back on his feet—hiking, walking, and soon biking again this summer. When time allows, he also enjoys fishing, making the most of Vermont’s great outdoors.
Through all of his experiences—both in and out of work—Brad has mastered the art of self-care. In his own words: “Each day brings new challenges, but staying attuned to our clients’ needs, supporting them in their wellness journey, and maintaining balance in my own life keeps me engaged and motivated.”
We’re lucky to have Brad on our team—both as a dedicated clinician and as someone who makes sure the coffee keeps flowing! ☕
