We’re thrilled to share that Health Care and Rehabilitation Services (HCRS) has been chosen by the Vermont Department of Mental Health (DMH) as one of four new Certified Community Behavioral Health Clinic (CCBHC) demonstration sites! This selection is a testament to our commitment to providing accessible, person-centered services to everyone in Windsor and Windham counties.

What This Means for HCRS

As a CCBHC demonstration site, HCRS will work toward full certification by July 2026. This model allows us to enhance and expand our services by integrating mental health, substance use, and physical health care under one roof. The goal? To eliminate barriers to care and ensure everyone—regardless of location, age, or payment ability—has access to the support they need.

The Bigger Picture

HCRS joins other community mental health agencies in Vermont, including the Howard Center, Northeast Kingdom Human Services (NKHS), and Northwestern Counseling and Support Services (NCSS), in implementing this innovative care model. Together, we’re part of a statewide effort to transform care and create lasting, positive impacts for Vermonters.

By July 2025, Vermont will join the federal CCBHC Demonstration Program, which provides four years of enhanced funding to sustain and expand the program. For us at HCRS, this opportunity underscores our mission to provide creative, collaborative, and compassionate health care services that are responsive to the needs of our communities and empower people to reach their potential.
