We’re thrilled to share that the HCRS Spring Art Show opening was a huge success, leaving a lasting impact on everyone involved! Hosted at 118 Elliot in Brattleboro, the event showcased over 200 amazing pieces of art, all created by our talented staff and clients. It was a beautiful evening that highlighted the powerful role art plays in mental health and healing.
The show was a true celebration of creativity and resilience. Attendees enjoyed a wide range of artwork, from paintings and sculptures to mixed media and photography. Each piece told a unique story, offering a glimpse into the artists’ personal journeys and perspectives.
Adding to the evening’s vibe was live music that filled the space with inspiring melodies. A special highlight was our very own CEO, George Karabakakis, who took to the stage for a soulful performance. It was a perfect example of how we at HCRS value creativity and connection across all levels of our organization.
Art has always been recognized as a powerful tool for mental health, allowing people to express their emotions, process experiences, and find empowerment. For many of our clients, engaging in art therapy offers a safe and supportive way to explore and heal.
Jonathan Mattoon, an HCRS Case Manager, summed it up perfectly: “We’ve seen so many individuals grow, build relationships, and continue to connect with the arts beyond their time at HCRS.”
The Spring Art Show is open through the end of April, with viewing hours on Fridays (4-7 pm), Saturdays (12-4 pm), and Sundays (12-4 pm). We hope you’ll stop by to experience this wonderful showcase of creativity and healing for yourself!
